Several members of the OSCE parliament gathered in Vienna to tackle some issues involving Afghanistan. Although the talk also involved several other topics, the issue surrounding Afghanistan was the main focus during the second day of the 9th winter session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly. The winter meeting opened in the Austrian Capital in Vienna and lasted for two days, from February 18 to 19, 2010.

The second day of the winter meeting in Vienna was attended by nearly 50 parliamentarians. This group of parliamentarians participated in the debate regarding the current situation in Afghanistan. The introductions of the debate were done by Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the OSCE PA Vice President and the Head of the Kazakh Delegation; as well as Michael Voisin, the Assembly’s Special Representative for Afghanistan and France’s delegation head.

Since Kazakhstan holds the OSCE chairmanship, OSCE chairman-in-office and Kazakhstan Foreign Minister Kanat Saudabayev delivered a speech addressing several issues, including that of Afghanistan’s. Citing a specific session of the OSCE Permanent Council last January 2010, Kanat Saudabayev stated that his country, Kazakhstan, intends to “pay special attention to Afghanistan.”

Aside from the Winter Meeting in Vienna, an international conference was also held in London, Britain last January in order to discuss several issues regarding Afghanistan. The participants of the January Conference showed their support for Hamid Karzai, the current president of Afghanistan. The group also expressed his support for president Karzai’s plans to promote and encourage the participation of low and mid-level Taliban fighters in their reintegration into the society.

During the Assembly’s session, the three general committees involved; namely the Committee on Economic Affairs, Science, Technology and Environment, the Committee on Political Affairs and Security, as well as the Committee on Democracy, Human Rights and Humanitarian Questions; were obliged to hold their own separate and joint discussions.

Aruba is one of those places that most people couldn’t point to on a map. It sounds exotic and you could probably swear that you’ve heard good things about it, but there’s a certain aura of mystery that surrounds this island nation as well. If you’re the mysterious type and your interest has been piqued, take a closer look and see if this isn’t the perfect location for your next vacation.

Floating in the southern Caribbean a few miles out from Venezuela, Aruba has all the attractive qualities of its island neighbors with a little less traffic and notoriety. Basically, it’s about 70 square miles of pleasing, beach-themed, tropical paradise fun that will never leave you bored or unenthusiastic about having chosen this as your temporary hideaway from the hustle and bustle of the modern world. By means of land, ocean, and air, you’ll rediscover your playful side while recharging your batteries.

For example, if city life has left you struggling to breathe and longing to tickle your toes with sand and the salty sea, Aruba is the place to be. Surfing, swimming, scuba diving, snorkeling, and a few other pleasant pastimes are enough to fill your days, so be sure to pack plenty of sunscreen and a few swimsuits (you might get tired of wearing the same one day in and day out).

The trade winds of Aruba make it an excellent place for two more adventurous ocean activities, kite surfing and wind surfing, so adrenaline junkies take heed. Novices can try their hand at this engaging sport under the watchful eye of an instructor, and more experienced folks can head out on their own to one of the many ideal stretches of surfable waves along the northern or southeastern coasts. Either way, you’re sure to get some exercise, test skills you didn’t even know you had, and view amazing Aruba from a one-of-a-kind vantage point.

If you’re more of a land lover, don’t worry about twiddling your thumbs while the rest of your group has all the fun. Jeep tours will take you on safari, meaning that a professional guide will fill you in on all the historical, cultural, and geographical hotspots of the isle. You’ll sit in comfort for the in-between parts, but will have time to get out, stretch your legs, and move up close and personal to the exciting features of this dynamic island. The Natural Bridge, the Ayo Rock Formations, Alto Vista Chapel, and the Gold Mill ruins are just a few of the highlights that any sort of exploration will unearth, so whether you join a caravan or set out on your own, you’ll be sure to uncover a number of unexpected delights that make this more than just a beaches-and-cocktails destination.

Bicycling is another way to traverse the terrain; it can be a little rough out there so mountain bikers should feel right at home. The sand dunes and desert plains also make horseback riding an interesting method to hit the trail, and will likely make you forget just where you are. Golfing and tennis will give you some exercise in more traditional ways, but be sure to stop the game every so often to properly appreciate the stunning backdrop that rises behind you. It’s not every day you can tee off before an audience of parakeets and salamanders, after all.

For one more tempting taste of pure paradise, consider treating yourself to an appointment at one of the many spas on the island. Filled with trained professionals, the latest technologies, and plenty of jars, bottles, and vials that contain exotic elixirs and lotions capable of soothing you completely, you’ll enter with the lingering stress of your normal life but emerge feeling refreshed and revived. Basic manicures, pedicures, and salon services are available, but it is advised that you boldly book something more extravagant and cutting edge; hydrotherapy, Shiatsu, or a nourishing body wrap would all aid you in your quest to fully enjoy yourself during this trip.

Finally, to ensure that all really does go phenomenally well, be sure to arrange for a fabulous lodging situation. Nothing kills the mood like a boring hotel room that just doesn’t fit with the rest of the vacation. It is important to take care of every detail, so go online to peruse the Aruba Vacation Rentals that will catapult this trip into the next realm. A concealed villa with a patio and a pool, a cute condo decorated in an island theme, or a beach bungalow that separates you from the crowds could all mean the difference between an acceptable trip and one that is utterly amazing. Review your options now, and say your thanks later on as you bask in the sun within the space of your private lanai.

It is particularly annoying to get younger kids to cooperate during travel. But it is not their fault, because at their age they are naturally more inquisitive and more active. They are not content to stay put and lounge in the beach or hotel. They want lots of actions, something that your dream beach vacation cannot satisfy. Why not change your dream relaxation vacation to a fun family holiday? Virginia travel offers two exciting and affordable theme parks for your family’s enjoyment.

The most wonderful Theme Park (I would say) in the world. You won’t forget once you have been here. It is a family holiday place that keep your mind refreshing all the time

These theme parks are not prohibitively-priced, meaning you can still afford to stay at nice hotels. Hotels dot the Virginian landscape, and are especially near the theme parks. After all, there is no better way to end a fun afternoon than by sleeping in a cozy room. Although these theme parks are not like Disneyland which have its own hotel, the thrill rides and sights more than suffice for this shortcoming. Paramount’s Kings Dominion and Busch Gardens Williamsburg make Virginia travel something the whole family can enjoy.

Paramount’s Kings Dominion boasts of being a water and theme park in one. It is a 400-acre affair with over 200 attractions and rides. International roller coaster fanatics troop to Kings Dominion for its 13 famous and world-class coasters. Teenagers and daring adults alike enjoy the thrilling loops and drops of these coasters. The park features Hypersonic XLC, the only American coaster that uses compressed air for launch power. Volcano Blast Coaster shoots up over a volcanic crater before diving at over 70 mph. There are also wooden coasters like the Rebel Yell and Hurler. Virginia is famous for its cinema complexes, and its theme park are not complete without movies. There are two rides that are inspired by major motion pictures. Tomb Raider Firefall engages all the senses and makes riders feel that they are part of the big Lara Croft movie or video game. Italian Job Turbo Coaster mimics the stunt chase scenes from the popular movie. Speed through the garage and the tunnels in mini Coopers and relive the film’s thrilling chase. If the younger kids are not up to yelling themselves hoarse on the coasters, the Nickelodeon Central is alive with their favorite characters. Taking pictures and playing with Dora, the Rugrats, Spongebob, Scooby, and Jimmy Neutron are definitely allowed. There are also regular kiddie games wherein toddlers get to play and meet other children. For excitement, there is a spooky mansion and the Mystery Machine. All this fun for a fraction of a beach holiday. Plus, there are also season tickets and family promos.

For around-the-world fun, Busch Gardens Williamsburg is the place to go. The park is divided into six countries: Ireland, France, Scotland, Italy, Germany, and England. Each “country” showcases the best of their cultures with excellent food, landmarks, gardens, and parks. The authentic design and feel of the “countries” are enough to make visitors feel that they are country-hopping. The Busch Gardens is also home to a couple of the planet’s best 25 roller coasters: Alpengeist and Apollo’s Chariot. Virginia travel is not complete without some animal fun. Aside from the rides, the park is also big on environmental issues. It hosts a mini-zoo and animal sanctuary where the kids can see and interact with wolves, raptors, reptiles, and all things feathered, furry, and scaly. There are also lectures about environmental preservation. The park also offers discounts by availing of special cards and family promotions. Free entrance is also awarded to families of US service men.

With these two parks, Virginia travel is fun, easy, and very affordable. It also provides great bonding time for you and your family. Now, who says vacationing with kids is a hard chore? For more valuable information on Virginia Travel, please visit http://www.coalfieldcoalition.org

There are currently just 42 sightings of Mega Mouth Shark on record to date, two of which have been from the remote island of Pulau Weh in Aceh, northern Sumatra. This volcanic isle represents the beginning of Indonesian territory to the west, the start of archipelago that spreads through 17,000 islands and the meeting point of the Indian Ocean and the Andaman Sea. The deep oceanic trenches that surround the island bring nutrient rich waters which in turn attract ocean giants such as mantas, whale sharks, mola mola and it seems the mega mouth shark.

On the 13th of March 2004 the first known sighting was made by a Dutch couple who own a dive centre at Gapang Beach on Pulau Weh. The couple spent many years diving in Indonesia and came across the island whilst backpacking throughout the region. The specimen washed ashore and after some confusion and was later identified; this was the second to be recorded in Indonesia and only the 21st to date worldwide. An earlier sighting was made in Manado, North Sulawesi but it rapidly swam off before any photos could be taken. On the 8th of September 2005 there was another sighting around Pulau Weh on a deep wreck dive on the Sophie Rickmer. At 50m a pair of Lumba Lumba Divemasters watched as it passed before descending into the deep. Unfortunately neither diver’s had a camera to record this rare occurrence.

Very little is known about the migratory habits of the mega mouth although it is known from Indian, Pacific and Atlantic Oceans, the distribution of sightings are more common in territories between Indonesia and Japan and also on the western coast of America. Typical characteristics include a blackish brown coloration, a wide purplish tongue with a silvery tinge on both sides and of course a bulbous head from which it gets its name.

Diving in Indonesia has long been known to offer the rarest of encounters, and even if you don’t make it to be one of the lucky few to spot a mega mouth the island of Pulau Weh is surely worth a visit.

Broome situated in the extreme north of Western Australia is a fast growing city. The mix of frontier town, architecture, history and seaside resort, makes Broome a perfect place to host visitors. The architectural styles and unusual history makes it a great place to explore, with the addition of a tropical climate and fantastic beach there is something for everyone.

Shoppers can enjoy the chic art galleries, street cafes and jewel stores. Pearls are an important part of Brooms history. Many years travelers have come from far to enjoy the thriving pearl industry. The Japanese in particular settled here and today have influence on the city. Today you can see the pearl luggers at work if you take a stroll to the wharf and bays. The jewellery shops are predominantly featuring the local beauties, also take a visit to the bustling China town.

You haven’t visited Broome unless you have been to Cable Beach. This is the big attraction for many people to the city and its not surprising. There are 14 miles of the pristine sands with a tropical influence of the Indian Ocean. The beach is also enjoyed by many nudists. Swimming is good except for rainy season when the marine stingers are around between November and April.

Another good spot, especially for bird lovers is Roebuck Bay on the east of town. Ornithologists enjoy watching the shorebirds during summer at Roebuck Bay as they pass through on their annual migration from north Asia.

Broome Transport: get there and around

Once arriving at Broome International Airport, you will find transport available to most of the surrounding towns and cities

Broom itself doesn’t offer a great deal of public transport but there is an hourly bus to Cable Beach. Due to the flat land, cycling is a good way to get around the city. Cycle for rent are easy to pick up.

Broome Weather

There are 2 main seasons in Broome – the wet and dry season, the same as most tropical destinations. Dry season is from May to November. The wet season the temperatures can be 35C making it humid. Even through the rainy season the heavy downpours are sporadic.

Broome Accommodation: Budget to Luxury

The internet can offer some of the best information on the cost, range and location of Broome hotels.

Broome Local Events

*The big event in Broome is the ‘Staircase to the Moon’. During low tide the full moon reflects off the mudflats at Roebuck Bay, appearing as though a staircase is reaching for the moon. This spectacle takes place during March to October.

*A festival originating in the 1970’s by the Japanese called Shinju Matsuri, celebrates the importance of the Broome pearl industry. The carnival includes street parades and a ball and other cultural activities which are great for the visitor to enjoy.

*During August enjoy Opera Under The Stars in Kimberly and Broome.

If you have not vacationed in the Bahamas, you are missing out on one of the best vacation destinations that could be chosen. The islands of the Bahamas have some major destination and tourist spots, which offer a traveler a unique vacation experience. Taking a vacation in the Bahamas is a dream come true for most people, whether business or pleasure or even a combination of those, and it does not need to be as expensive as you might think.

The two main islands are New Providence Island and Grand Bahama Island, although the smaller islands of Abacos, Acklins, Andros, The Berry Islands, Bimini, Cat Island, Eleuthera, The Exumas, Inagua, Mayaguana, and San Salvador also offer prime vacation spots. Crystal clear turquoise waters, endless white sand beaches, perfect temperate weather all add up to a vacation that is as good as it gets.

You can fly into the Bahamas via commercial airlines which is only a very short flight from Florida, or you can take a cruise to the Bahamas, where Nassau is a very popular cruise ship stopover with most of the major cruise ships. A passport and visa aren’t usually required, but verify with your travel agent exactly what paperwork you should bring to stay out of trouble.

Your opportunities for relaxation are limited only by your imagination. If you like beaches, the sands of the beaches here are second to none, and end in the crystal aqua waters of the ocean. Sun bathers can always find a section of beach in which to gather some rays and enjoy some peace and quiet. If golf is your thing, the Bahamas offers several world-class golf courses. And if you need a bit of diversion, there are some casinos here that offer casino action and slot machines that are on a par with the best that would be found in Las Vegas.

You will find the locals are friendly and welcoming of visitors. The shopping along the main streets and shopping district offer many deals and unique items, many of which will not be found in your normal shopping centers back home. Language is not a problem here, since English is the language of choice in the Bahamas.

A discussion about the Bahamas would not be complete without mentioning the world-class resort of Atlantis. The Atlantis is a truly breath-taking resort and is also home to one of the largest casinos in the islands. The grounds of the Atlantis are impeccably kept with hardly a single blade of grass out of place. As a result of all of this, the Atlantis is home to many conferences and conventions, and can accommodate even large conferences of several thousand attendees.

If you have never been to the Bahamas, you owe it to yourself to visit there and experience it. If you have been there already, you already understand this, but there is almost certainly new aspects of the Bahamas that you have not yet experienced. Take the time to treat yourself to a Bahamas vacation, you will not regret it.

There will be a need to travel because the Atlantis is located on Paradise Island in the Bahamas. Called the Atlantis Paradise Island, this vacation resort has so much to offer and so many activities that it’s probably one of the only resorts in the world where you’ll need a map to even get around!

The accommodations here range from moderately priced to very expensive. Families on vacation here should consider staying in the Coral Towers, which is the most centrally located tower at Atlantis. The Coral Towers is also closest to the Predator Lagoon and the Lagoon Pool as well. Lot’s of fun!

Atlantis Paradise Island Resort is also packed with activities for guests of all ages. The eleven pool areas, miles of sandy beach, and Neptune’s Water Toys Hut give guests access to many water based activities. Neptune’s provides non motorized water sports which include water bikes, pedal boats, kayaks, and even snorkeling equipment rentals.

Parents will adore this vacation because Atlantis has two different programs for children, the Aqua Tots program and the Discovery Channel Camp. The Aqua Tots program was designed for children 3 years old and up, while the discovery camp is for kids 4 – 12 years old and ranges from a 1 hour program to one that includes lunch and even dinner.

Kids love to travel here because they offer six different water slides and the marine exhibits are terrific. This can keep kids busy for hours and hours, and are even fun for the parents as well. In order to enjoy the slides, kids must be at least 48 inches tall.

A beach vacation at Atlantis is something your entire family will love. There is something here to keep everyone occupied, from the beaches to fun on the slides. If your family enjoys the best of fun and the beach, Atlantis is something your whole family will enjoy – and love coming back to.

Finally, wherever you travel, it is highly recommended that you take out travel insurance before embarking on any vacation. Unfortunately, without insurance, you have little recourse if you have to suddenly cancel your trip due to illness or other unforeseeable circumstances. Realize that resorts like this will expect to be paid no matter what. However, with travel insurance, you can recoup some or all of your costs if travel and vacation plans change. Travel insurance is very affordably priced, so please check out your options.

The Costa del Sol has long been one of the most popular holiday destination in southern Europe, and quite rightly so as it has much to offer in the formof reliable sunshine, beautiful safe beaches, good restaurants and nightlife, good quality and affordable accommodation along with plentiful and cheap flightsfrom a vast choice of airports. However The Costa del Sol is only a very smallpart of the wonderful Autonomous Region of Andalucia.

Rural tourism has opened up this superb area of southern europe and it isnow possible to rent a villa in many outstanding and remote areas hithertoo unexplored by the vast majority of tourists. To a large extent the countryside has been unspoilt by the recent developments along the Costasand there are still many out of the way and remote areas to explore. In recognition of this several new air routes have now been opened up with very reasonable flights into both Jerez and Granada airports.

The white villages, or “Pueblos Blancos” are a good starting point as in the mainlife goes on in them much as it has done for centuries. Casares, Gaucin, Benaojen,Estacion de Cortes, Cortes de la Frontera, to name but a few, are all delightful places to spend a few hours ambling around, marvelling at the architecture, the slow unchanging pace of life and sampling the various tapas bars. During the summer months every village holds a tradtionalferia with music and dancing in the streets all night long.

Andlaucia is of course the home of Flamenco dancing and bull fighting. The oldestbullring in Spain is to be found at Ronda, and whatever your feelings areon this rather emotive sport it is an interesting building to visit as is the adjacent museum. The old part of the town is also a lovely place to visitwith its amazing Tajo ( gorge) and wealth of old buildings. A train ridefrom one of the white villages further down country such as Jimena or Gaucin,is a lovely way to arrive at Ronda as the train passes through some beautifulcountryside not visable from the road.It also continues on uptoGranada which is a must for any visitor to Andalucia with its stunningAlhambra Palace, old gypsey quarter and many other places of interest.

The wildlife in Andalucia is amongst the best now left in Europe with an astonishing array of birds, both resident and migrant, it is particuarlywell blessed with birds of prey such as Griffon and Eygptian Vultures,Bonnelli’s and Booted Eagles,Peregrine falcons, Red and Black Kites, to namebut a few. These magnificent birds are a common site soaring majestically above the mountain ranges of Andalucia. It is also home to wild boar, mongeese and genetsmost of which are not particuarly well appreciated by the local populationas they do alot of damage to gardens and live stock, however they are all now protected by law. In the spring the countryside puts on a stunning display of wild flowers, some of which are now quite rare in other parts ofEurope.

There is much unspoilt countryside where one is quite at liberty to walkand camp, just being careful with fires in the dry summer months. Whilst official footpaths and signposting are rather limited there are few real restrictions as to where you can wander as long as you just use common sensewith regard to rubbish, fires etc. However always take water with youas you can easily find yourself in the middle of nowhere with no naturalsource of water nearby.

So take a holiday away from all the hustle and bustle, rent a private villaFree Web Content, hire a car and just enjoy exploring this delightful region of Spain.

Considering a trip to the Atlantis Bahamas? If you’ve never been to the Bahamas, you don’t know what you’ve been missing. The Bahamas have some of the major tourist destinations in the world, and they offer a truly unique experience. Many people dream of a vacation in the Bahamas, whether they get there through business or pleasure. You may want to consider focusing your trip on the Atlantis Bahamas, a world-class resort near the main city of Nassau. A trip to the Atlantis Bahamas need not be as expensive as you may think.

There are two main islands: New Providence Island and Grand Bahama Island. There are also several smaller islands, which include Abacos, Acklins, Andros, The Berry Islands, Bimini, Cat Island, Eleuthera, The Exumas, Inagua, Mayaguana, and San Salvador. All of the islands offer beautiful sites to vacation. All feature crystal turquoise waters, endless stretches of white sand beaches and beautiful weather combine to create a vacation that’s hard to duplicate anywhere else.

Several commercial airlines fly to the Bahamas, which is a very short flight from Florida. If you plan your trip around a stay at the Atlantis Bahamas, you can fly directly to Nassau, and then take a short taxi ride to Paradise Island (just a short drive over a bridge connecting Paradise Island to the mainland). Another option is to take a cruise. Nassau is a very popular stopover for cruise ships from almost every line. Check with your travel agent regarding what identification and paperwork are required for traveling to the Bahamas. Passport and Visa regulations have undergone some changes recently, and you don’t want to end up without some crucial identification.

Need to relax? Your options are limited only by your imagination. The beaches are second to none, and strolling through the gentle wavelets where ocean meets land is an experience you won’t want to miss. If you like to sunbathe, there are tons of deserted (or relatively deserted) beaches. Grab a section of beach to yourself, and enjoy some sun! If you like to golf, there are several world-class golf courses located in the Bahamas. If you prefer gambling, there are several casinos that offer all sorts of sports betting, slot machines and table games to keep you busy for as long as you want to linger. Again, if you plan your Bahamas trip around a stay at the Atlantis Bahamas, all of these activities will be a short stroll from your hotel room!

The locals are friendly, and they love welcoming new visitors. Shopping is truly a unique experience; with many shops that offer items you can’t get back home. English is the primary language in the Bahamas, so you don’t need to worry about a language barrier.

If you visit the Bahamas, make sure you at least wander through Atlantis Bahamas, the largest resort in the country. Atlantis Bahamas is aworld-class, and houses the largest casino in the islands. Atlantis Bahamas is the destination for many families, conferences, conventions, and can accommodate several thousand attendees.
